The Bologna project consists on creating a story using five illustrations without the use of words. The ideia that came to my mind was to make an orange horse travelling the different eras of humanity done in different styles to represnt the period in which the horse was in.
The reason I had this idea was because I was fascinated by the cover of the book "The Catcher in the Rye" which had a beautiful illustration of a red horse. So I wanted to use a colorful horse as a tribute to this great illustration.
The idea of different historical periods and because I'm a big fan of history, and as horses are present in different periods of humanity I thought it would be the perfect excuse.

It was a project that took me out of my comfort zone, mixing different materials and trying to create a narrative without using words.

The first drawing is an imitation of cave painting where it was done with pastel chalk with yellow and brown paint to represnt a inteiror of a cave.

The second drawing is from the Greek period, imitating a mosaic, which was made with shredded colored paper.

The third and medieval era, was done in watercolor chalk and only the horse and rider were done in colored paper.

The fourth drawing takes place in the Victorian era, with the background made in Indian ink with white ink details, and only the orange horse and the rider made in coloured paper.

The fifth and final drawig takes place in actual times with a racehorse, also with a background with watercolor chalk and the horse on paper.
