In my Final Project of my college, I had chosen to work with an extremely difficult topic to discuss, which is the issue of child soldiers in ongonig wars.
And to address this topic I chose to make a comic, because I’ve always enjoyed creating visual narratives.
The comic is called “Iron in the Blood” because it is a term used by soldiers to describe children who always carries a gun in their hands. As if guns were part of its anatomy.
The idea was to create a narrative where a child from an unknown country has a gun that speaks to him. Like an imaginary friend. But the weapon convinces to do terrible things to turn her into something inhuman.
The drawings were made with charcoal and some parts were made in Procreate.
